The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 series consists of OS-independent, hardware-encrypted USB Type-A and Type-C drives with an alphanumeric keypad for easy PIN entry.
The KP200 incorporates 256-bit XTS-AES hardware-based encryption. It also has FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certification for military-grade security, with enhancements that further raise the bar for data protection. Its circuitry is coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them; this tough epoxy prevents attacks on the semiconductor components. The drive is designed so that any attempt at tampering is obvious and alerts the owner. It also incorporates protection against brute-force password guessing attacks and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad is coated with a polymer layer that protects the keys and masks keystrokes by analyzing fingerprints. The
KP200 uses an integrated rechargeable battery that can be used to unlock the drive without software and then inserted into any USB Type-A compatible device. This allows for greater flexibility across various platforms and operating systems.
With the Multi-PIN (Admin/User) option, the keypad can be used to configure an easy-to-remember, yet difficult-to-guess alphanumeric PIN for both the administrator and the user. The administrator can reset a user PIN and allow access to the drive if the PIN is forgotten or if the drive is locked after the user has reached the maximum of 10 login attempts. With Administrator and User PINs enabled, the KP200 will lock the User PIN after 10 failed login attempts. If the Administrator PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times consecutively, the cyber brute-force attack protection will erase the drive, permanently deleting all data and resetting it to zero.
Additionally, the drive offers two levels of Read-Only (or Write-Protect) modes: a Global mode, configurable by the Administrator, and a Single-Session mode, configurable by the user. Read-Only modes can protect the drive from malware originating from unknown systems. Furthermore, the Administrator can load content and set the global Read-Only mode, allowing the user to access the data but not modify it.
Both the 512GB KP200 and the KP200C, with capacities ranging from 64GB to 512GB, offer fast dual-channel performance.
FIPS 140-3 Level 3 Compliance (pending):
The KP200 now supports the new military-grade FIPS 140-3 Level 3 security specification published by NIST. This is an enhanced version of the FIPS 140-2 specification, strengthening security features and tamper resistance. It includes 256-bit XTS-AES encryption and protects against brute-force and BadUSB attacks with digitally signed firmware. Device and OS Independent:

Multi-PIN Option:
Users have the option to configure a User or Admin/User mode. The Admin mode can be used to reset a user PIN and allow access to the drive if the PIN is forgotten, or if the drive is locked after reaching the maximum of 10 user login attempts.
Global and Session Read-Only Modes (Write Protection):
Both the administrator and the user can configure Read-Only mode for each session to protect the drive from malware from unknown systems. Additionally, the administrator can set Global Read-Only mode, which configures the drive in Read-Only mode until
it is reconfigured.
