The StarTech.com MCM1110SFP is a Gigabit Ethernet media converter that allows you to extend your network beyond the 100-meter limit of copper cabling by converting a 10/100/1000 Mbps copper connection to fiber optic. With an open SFP slot, you can choose the appropriate SFP transceiver (sold separately) for your fiber type and distance, supporting multimode up to 550m or single-mode up to 10km.
