SONY optical drive for PS5 Digital Edition console

The SONY optical drive for PS5 Digital Edition is an official accessory that adds disc playback capability to your digital-only console. Designed specifically for the PS5 Digital Edition (CFI-1100B series), this drive connects via USB-C and supports 4K UHD Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, DVD, and CD formats. Installation is straightforward, requiring only a screwdriver and a few minutes of setup.

Once connected, the drive must be activated via the internet and a system firmware update to ensure compatibility and security. After activation, you can enjoy physical game discs, movies, and music. The drive is powered directly through the USB-C connection, eliminating the need for an external power source. This accessory is the perfect solution for users who initially chose the Digital Edition but later want the flexibility of physical media.
