Comica Traxshot

Shotgun microphone designed for video production, interviews and ambient recording. Its distinguishing feature is the dual moving tube design, which allows the geometry of the capsules to be modified to suit different capture scenarios.

Thanks to its modular architecture, the microphone can be configured in four recording modes, from highly directional front pick-up to ambient stereo recording.

Mobile capsule system with four recording modes

The Traxshot uses supercardioid pattern condenser capsules mounted in moving tubes. By adjusting the physical position of the tubes, different pick-up modes can be activated.

• Mono mode: tubes aligned for maximum front-firing directionality.
• Two-way mode: one capsule facing forwards and one capsule facing backwards, ideal for interviews.
• Stereo 30° mode: front-facing pick-up with a slight spatial aperture.
• 90° Stereo Mode: ambient or music recording with wider stereo range.

OLED display and continuous gain control

The microphone integrates a high-contrast OLED screen for real-time display:

• Battery status
• Active recording mode
• Audio levels

Sensitivity adjustment is via a stepless gain dial, which allows the signal to be adjusted between -35 dB and -15 dB without sudden jumps in volume.

It also incorporates a low-cut filter to reduce low-frequency noise caused by wind, vibration or handling of the equipment.

Professional construction with air-float suspension

The chassis is made of aluminium alloy, providing structural strength and protection against electromagnetic or radio frequency interference.

The microphone integrates a suspension system called Air-float Shock-absorption, designed to absorb mechanical vibrations and reduce noise generated by camera movement.

Intelligent TRS / TRRS connectivity

The main output uses a 3.5 mm jack with automatic detection. The circuit recognises whether the connected device is a camera (TRS) or a smartphone (TRRS) and adjusts the signal automatically.

In addition, there is a secondary headphone output for real-time monitoring with zero latency.

Built-in battery and USB-C charging

The Comica Traxshot integrates a 300 mAh battery that provides up to 20 hours of battery life.

Charging is via USB-C, a port that also allows firmware updates and powering the microphone during use(Power while charging).
