LISN-Mate allows for the distinction between differential interference and common-mode interference. The so-called LISN-Mate TBLM1 is a passive accessory for LISNs that splits the line-borne interference signal into its common-mode and differential components. The LISN-Mate is connected to the RF output of the LISN in the positive supply line (LISN 1) and to the RF output of the second LISN in the negative supply line (LISN 2). The line-borne interference signal at the LISN output is always the sum of the common-mode interference and the differential-mode interference. The LISN-Mate now splits these two interference components so that they can be measured separately at the two BNC jacks labeled “Differential Mode” and “Common Mode,” respectively. Care must be taken to ensure that the connecting cables between the two LISNs and the LISN-Mate are identical in length and construction and feature very good RF shielding. The TBLM1 enables efficient troubleshooting of interference
