This 7-port managed USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) industrial hub allows users to enable/disable individual USB ports and reboot the hub, using the USB hub manager software (free to download). Managed USB Hub

The USB hub administrator software must be installed on the host computer, allowing users to remotely control access to the device and manage operational functions. With this software, users can:

Enable or disable individual ports or all ports on the USB hub.

Reboot the USB hub.

Set a password to restrict unauthorised access.

Save port states for quick configuration in specific applications.

Use command line interface (CLI) commands for command line operation or custom application development.

The software is compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux, making it versatile across platforms. It supports an unlimited number of managed USB hubs, allowing users to connect multiple hubs to a single host computer or cascade them in sequence.

The industrial USB hub features a rugged, heavy-duty metal enclosure designed to protect the hub from damage caused by accidental drops or sudden impacts. In addition, it protects against electrostatic discharge (ESD) with ESD level 4 protection of 15 kV airborne and 8 kV contact ESD. Power Flexibility

The USB hub offers powering flexibility to meet the diverse needs of users. It supports a wide range of voltages, from +7 to 24 volts DC, ensuring compatibility with a variety of power supplies. With two DC inputs, which include both a terminal block and a concentric barrel connector, users can choose to power the USB hub using either input or both simultaneously for redundancy. With an external power supply connected, the USB hub supports the USB 1.2 battery charging specification, providing up to 1.5A (7.5W) on 6 of the downstream ports, so you can quickly power and charge external devices.

An external power supply is required for optimal performance. StarTech.com offers an external power adapter (part number: ITB20D3250, sold separately) that will allow the USB hub to operate at peak performance.

Mounting Options

The USB hub is carefully designed for user convenience and adaptability. Equipped with integrated mounting brackets, installation is simplified. The hub can be mounted on a variety of surfaces, such as walls or desks. The DIN rail bracket ensures secure mounting in industrial environments.

In addition, the USB hub offers enhanced security with the USB Event Monitor utility, a feature of StarTech.com's Connectivity Tools application. This utility logs and time stamps USB port usage, allowing IT administrators to identify potentially malicious devices.
