The Xerox C305 is a colour A4 multifunction laser printer designed for busy offices that need fast, reliable document handling in one compact device. It combines colour printing, copying, scanning and faxing, with Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity plus automatic duplex printing to help reduce paper use.

Print speeds reach up to 30 ppm in colour and 32 ppm in black at normal quality on A4, with a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 600 DPI. First-page-out times are 8.3 seconds in black and 8.6 seconds in colour, and the device warms up in about 70 seconds. The 2-cartridge system uses black, cyan, magenta and yellow toner, and supports PostScript 3, PCL 6, PCL 5, PCLm and PDF page description languages.

Copying and scanning are equally capable: colour copying at up to 600 x 600 DPI, up to 9,999 copies per job, and a 25–400% zoom range. The scanner uses CIS technology with a flatbed and an automatic document feeder (ADF), a maximum scan area of 216 x 356 mm, and can scan to email, USB, FTP, PC and network folders in TIFF, JPEG and PDF formats. Fax resolution is 600 x 600 DPI in black and 400 x 400 DPI in colour, with a 33.6 Kbit/s modem and features such as auto redial, fax forwarding and auto reduction.
