Toshiba's technology uses conventional writing methods while eliminating the drawbacks of other MAMR methods. This allows the MG11 hard drives to achieve capacities of up to 24 TB.

The Toshiba MG11 (14 TB - 24 TB) and MG10 (1-10 TB) hard drive models are designed and manufactured to support 512e or 4Kn sector formats simply by formatting them. This feature, available for both SATA and SAS models, ensures compatibility with both legacy and future systems. By eliminating the need to maintain a stock of HDD models with varying block sizes, cloud-scale infrastructure can streamline inventory management and logistics, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership.

Furthermore, Toshiba hard drives can also include SED (Self-Encrypting) or SIE (Manufacturer Instant Erase) technologies, meaning all data can be erased quickly without having to overwrite the drive for hours.
