eQ-3 Homematic IP Home Control Unit

The Homematic IP Control Unit (HmIP-HCU1, code 4047976603220) in white/gray is the versatile central unit for Homematic IP smart home systems, operating both in cloud mode and local mode without internet connection. It manages up to 350 devices, including 120 wireless devices, via the secure 868 MHz radio protocol (868.0-868.6 MHz and 869.4-869.65 MHz) with AES-128 end-to-end encryption and a typical range of 400 meters in open field. It includes dual-band WiFi connectivity (2.4 GHz up to 150 Mbit/s and 5 GHz up to 433 Mbit/s), 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet with Auto-MDIX, and two USB host ports for local backups, measurement data storage, and access via the HCUweb web interface.

Powered by an external 5.1 VDC adapter (SELV) with a standby consumption of 2.0 W and a maximum of 2,600 mA, it features compact dimensions of 96 x 173 x 96 mm and a weight of 510 g, with IP20 protection for indoor use at temperatures between 5 and 40 °C. It supports integration with the CCU3 for classic Homematic devices, the wired access point (HmIPW-DRAP) to extend wireless range, and EEBUS devices such as heat pumps or wall boxes for smart energy monitoring via the free Homematic IP app dashboard.
