Its low profile (15mm lower than classic 9cm tower coolers like the NH-U9S) not only ensures full 3U compatibility, but also makes the NH-D9L perfect for compact HTPCs and cases with small form factors in which airflow is parallel to the motherboard. With its 95 x 95mm dimensions, the NH-D9L clears up RAM and PCIe slots on all Intel and most AMD ITX motherboards. The excellent included NF-A9 fan allows for automatic speed control via PWM ensuring surprisingly quiet operation. Additionally, an optional second NF-A9 fan can be added to improve performance in dual-fan mode. Low profile tower design for better airflow efficiency
While most low-profile coolers push air towards the motherboard, the NH-D9L is a tower-style design cooler that slopes parallel to the motherboard, allowing for higher airflow efficiency in cases with front-facing fans. Inlet and rear outlet that create an airflow parallel to the motherboard.

3U compatibility
While classic 9cm coolers with a height of up to 125mm fit into 4U mounting cases, the NH-D9L s low height of just 110mm allows it to be used in 3U chassis. This makes it ideal for noise sensitive 3U applications in fields such as audio or video processing.

100% RAM compatibility
Thanks to its 95 x 95 mm dimensions, the NH-D9L does not protrude above the RAM slots on current Intel and most AMD motherboards. All of this allows full user access to the memory modules and ensures 100% compatibility with optional tall heat spreaders or memory fans.

100% compatibility with PCIe cards in mini-ITX
Many Intel LGA115x based mini-ITX motherboards have PCIe slots that sit to the right of the 95 x 95mm socket area. While larger coolers that exceed this area can block the PCIe slot, the NH-D9L, thanks to its 95 x 95mm dimensions, provides full compatibility with PCIe cards, in ATX, microATX or ITX.

High quality NF-A9 fan
The highly optimized NF-A9 fan features Noctua s AAO framework, as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, which improve the known efficiency of Noctua s previous 92mm models. and get superior cooling performance from the NH-D9L.

PWM support and Adapter for noise reduction
The NH-D9L s NF-A9 92mm fan includes PWM support for convenient automatic speed control via the motherboard. Additionally, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 2,000 to 1,550rpm for quieter operation by using the Noise Reduction Adapter.

Double fan (optional)
The NH-D9L includes an additional set of fan mounting clips so users who want increased cooling performance can add an optional second NF-A9 to the front of the fin set. Using the Y-cable, which is included with the NF-A9 PWM fan, both fans can be connected to a single CPU fan connector.

SecuFirm2? mounting system
Noctua s SecuFirm2? mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and easy handling. Being compatible with Intel s LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156), LGA2011 (LGA2011-0 & LGA2011-3) and AMD s AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+, the SecuFirm2? mount included with the NH-D9L guarantees perfect contact pressure and maximum comfort on all sockets.

Compatibility with old and new sockets
Complying with SecuFirm2? standards, the NH-D9L can be compatible with older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets, using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit that Noctua offers free of charge. If technically possible, Noctua will also provide upgrade kits for the new sockets.
