COBI Sd.Kfz. 2 Kettenkrad half-track vehicle with trailer grey

Bricks Kettenkrad, 239 pieces

Build a detailed 1:28 scale brick model of the Kettenkrad with trailer, one of the most unusual vehicles of World War II. This 239-piece set from the COBI Historical Collection captures the distinctive half-track configuration and motorcycle-style front wheel that made the original Sd.Kfz. 2 so recognizable. The model also includes a transport trailer and a Luftwaffe soldier figure, letting you recreate a piece of military history in brick form.

The Kettenkrad was developed in the late 1930s to meet the German army's need for a lightweight vehicle capable of operating in difficult terrain where ordinary off-road vehicles could not. Mud, snow, sandy roads, and destroyed infrastructure demanded exceptional mobility. The resulting Sd.Kfz. 2 combined a motorcycle-style front wheel for steering on roads with a tracked drive for traction in challenging conditions. It was used to transport soldiers, supplies, and light weaponry, tow artillery pieces, lay telephone cables, and carry ammunition and fuel. This COBI model faithfully recreates that unique design, preserving the appearance of the original vehicle.

With 239 pieces, this medium-sized set offers an engaging build for fans of military history and brick models. The finished model measures 5 x 4.5 x 18 cm and is made of durable plastic. Recommended for boys and collectors alike, it makes a great addition to any Historical Collection display.
