Noctua NF-F12 5V 120mm fan
The NF-F12 5V is a special 5V version of Noctua's award-winning NF-F12 120mm high quality fan. Being equipped with a standard AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame and sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as the FocusedFlow™ system, the NF-F12 is known for its superb performance and surprisingly quiet operation. Noctua's Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology and Noctua's market-leading SSO2 bearing ensure smooth operation and excellent long-term stability.
Award-winning NF-F12 design
After receiving more than 100 awards and recommendations from the international press, the Noctua NF-F12 has become the best and safest choice for 120mm cooling needs. Its renowned efficiency has convinced tens of thousands of customers worldwide.
5 Volt version
The 5V fans can be used in various devices and applications. Thanks to the included USB adapter cable as well as the OmniJoin™ adapter kit, the NF-F12 5V becomes a proven exceptional solution that provides full flexibility for both replacing older 5V fans and new custom applications.
Focused Flow™ Frame
Designed for high pressure applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow™ frame consists of eleven blades that straighten, channel and direct the airflow, allowing the NF-F12 to compete with the performance of conventional fans operating at much higher speeds.
Variable Angle Distance and Vortex Control Notches
The NF-F12's blades are arranged in variable angular distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to distribute the sound emission over a wider frequency spectrum and consequently the sound pattern of the fan is more pleasing to the human ear.
Heptaperf™ impeller
Custom designed for the new Focused Flow™ frame and working in conjunction with the eleven blades, the seven-bladed Heptaperf™ impeller has been carefully optimised to achieve a perfect balance between power and quietness.
Step-by-step inlet design
Noctua's step-by-step inlet design adds turbulence to the air intake to ease the transition from laminar to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal inlet noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space-constrained environments.
Internal surface microstructures
With the fan blade tips in collision with the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, the flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly reduced, resulting in lower blade pass-by noise, improved airflow and higher pressure efficiency.
Integrated anti-vibration pads
Integrated anti-vibration pads, made of extra soft silicone, minimise vibration transmission per minute, while maintaining compatibility with all standard mounting systems and fan clips used on heatsinks.
Smooth Commutation Drive 2
The latest version of Noctua's advanced SCD (Smooth Commutation Drive) system ensures more stable operation by eliminating torque variations and switching noises. This makes the fan remarkably quiet, even at close range.
Polarity change protection
As most 5V fans are equipped with proprietary connectors and documentation on pin alignment may not be available, the fan integrates a diode for reverse polarity protection. In this way, the safe current direction will always be used even if it is accidentally connected with reverse polarity.
SSO2 Bearing
The NF-F12 is the first fan to feature the even more optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned and proven SSO bearings. With SSO2, the rear magnet is positioned closer to the shaft to provide better stabilisation, precision and durability.
Metal bearings
To ensure the highest possible degree of manufacturing precision, minimum tolerance and excellent long-term stability, the NF-F12 features a bearing made entirely of brass.
OmniJoin adapter kit
Many 5V fans are equipped with patented connectors, therefore the NF-F12 5V includes Noctua's OmniJoin adapter kit. Simply cut the original fan cable, attach it to the adapter using the included cable connectors and you can attach the NF-F12 5V to the proprietary connectors.
USB adapter cable
The fan comes with a USB adapter cable that allows the fan to be powered by external batteries, devices with USB ports or other external power sources such as those used for smartphones, providing unlimited possibilities when using the fan at home, in the car or anywhere cooling is needed.
Extensive cabling options
The fan's short 20cm main cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications, while the included 30cm extension cable provides extended reach when needed. Both cables are fully shielded.
