The StarTech PEX2S953 is a native single-chip PCI Express serial card that adds two RS232 serial ports to your desktop or server computer. Designed with a 16C950 UART controller and 256-byte FIFO buffers, it ensures reliable data transfer at speeds up to 921.6 Kbps. This card is ideal for connecting legacy serial devices such as modems, printers, barcode scanners, and industrial equipment.
Installation is straightforward with plug-and-play support in Windows and Linux operating systems. The low-profile bracket is included for use in small form factor cases. The card uses a single PCI Express x1 lane and is backward compatible with x4, x8, and x16 slots. Each port provides full RS232 signal support including TX, RX, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, and RI.
