Description
With this adapter, you can connect Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices (such as hard drives and Thunderbolt docks) to your Mac via Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C)/USB 4 ports.
Since it works both ways, you can also connect Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac with a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port running macOS Sierra or later.
It can also be used to connect Thunderbolt displays (such as the Apple Thunderbolt Display and LG Thunderbolt 2 displays) to your Mac via Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C)/USB 4 ports. Please note that to use this adapter with an Apple Thunderbolt Display, a power adapter is required because the display does not receive power through the adapter.
